Descripción:: This paper addresses the implementation of the main international conventions ratified by Peru under the framework of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and examines their impact on the country's National Maritime Policy (NMP). Three key conventions are highlighted, through an analysis of the implementation mechanisms and their effects on Peruvian legislation, and it evaluates how these international agreements have contributed to improving safety, environmental sustainability and the training of maritime personnel in Peru. Recommendations are also proposed to strengthen the implementation of these conventions and advance the alignment of the NMP with international standards, in order to maximize the use of marine resources and improve the country's competitiveness in the global maritime arena.; Este trabajo aborda la implementación de los principales convenios internacionales ratificados por Perú bajo el marco de la Organización Marítima Internacional (OMI), y examina su impacto en la Política Nacional Marítima (PNM) del país. Se destacan tres convenios clave, a través de un análisis de los mecanismos de implementación y sus efectos en la legislación peruana, se evalúa cómo estos acuerdos internacionales han contribuido a mejorar la seguridad, la sostenibilidad ambiental y la capacitación del personal marítimo en Perú. Asimismo, se proponen recomendaciones para fortalecer la implementación de estos convenios y avanzar en la alineación de la PNM con estándares internacionales, con el fin de maximizar el aprovechamiento de los recursos marinos y mejorar la competitividad del país en el ámbito marítimo global.
