Descripción:: O presente artigo destina-se a analisar a evolução da operação de abertura de passagem no Exército Brasileiro (EB) com base em suas experiências em situação de guerra. O artigo é oriundo de um trabalho de conclusão de curso da Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (AMAN). Os objetivos do presente trabalho foram: analisar a forma como o Exército construiu o seu conhecimento na operação de abertura de passagem até a Segunda Guerra Mundial; quais experiências em situação de guerra evidenciaram a importância da operação para a Força Terrestre e quais promoveram a evolução da operação para a Instituição. Foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva com abordagem qualitativa e de natureza aplicada, valendo-se de um levantamento bibliográfico, seguido de uma seleção documental e, na sequência, de uma leitura analítica. Os resultados obtidos da referida pesquisa levaram à conclusão de que o aprendizado a respeito da operação de abertura de passagem em muito deve às experiências de guerra vivenciadas pelos soldados brasileiros ao longo da história, inclusive na 2ª Guerra Mundial.; T This article is intended to analyze the evolution of breaching operation in the Brazilian Army based on its experiences in war scenarios. The article derives from a Bachelor’s thesis of the Agulhas Negras Military Academy (AMAN). The objectives of the present paper are: to analyze the way the Army built its knowledge of breaching operations until the Second World War; which experiences in a war scenario showed the importance of the operation for the Force and which promoted the evolution of the operation for the Institution. An applied, descriptive research of qualitative approach was carried out, using a bibliographical review and documental selection, followed by analytical reading. The results obtained from the aforementioned research led to the conclusion that the learning about the breaching operation owes much to the war experiences lived by Brazilian soldiers throughout history, including the Second World War.
