Descripción:: O presente trabalho abrange o tema “A Adequabilidade dos Meios da GNR para o Combate à Criminalidade Violenta e Grave” tendo como objectivo concluir se a capacidade de resposta da GNR para o combate a este tipo de criminalidade é adequada. A investigação inicia-se com a definição do conceito de Criminalidade Violenta e Grave, prossegue com a caracterização das competências da GNR e de seguida, aborda os instrumentos e mecanismos de cooperação existentes entre as Forças e Serviços de Segurança. Posteriormente retrata-se a adequabilidade dos meios da GNR no combate à Criminalidade Violenta e Grave através de três perspectivas: a Prevenção Criminal, a Investigação Criminal e a Reacção às Ocorrências. Os métodos utilizados são o inquisitivo, dedutivo e sistemático tendo como componente prática a aplicação de inquéritos por entrevistas, a 19 participantes, e correspondente análise e interpretação. Este estudo apresenta características exploratórias, uma vez que termina com a verificação das hipóteses explicativas. Com esta investigação conclui-se que a cooperação é uma estratégia imprescindível, nomeadamente através da partilha de informação. A GNR não está dotada com os meios adequados para este combate, no entanto, a sua capacidade de resposta é eficiente, pelo que se verifica, até ao momento, a resposta a todas as ocorrências. Este trabalho revela-se uma mais-valia, uma vez que é um contributo para se avaliar as possíveis formas de emprego e rentabilização dos meios no terreno. Uma das sugestões apresentadas, visa a partilha de informação diária da incidência de ilícitos nas zonas de acção dos Comandos Territoriais quer com a Polícia de Segurança Pública, quer com os Comandos adjacentes e vice-versa.; Abstract This paper covers the issue of “The Adequacy of GNR Means to Combat Serious and Violent Crime” aiming to conclude whether the responsiveness of the GNR to combat this type of crime is appropriate or not. The GNR is not endowed with the adequate resources for this kind of crime fight, however, its responsiveness capability is efficient, so far, and able to answer to all occurrences. This work is therefore a valuable asset, sinc e it contributes to assess the possible forms of employment and performance improvement of the means on the ground. One of the suggestions made aims to the sharing of information regarding daily incidences, like crimes and illegal actions in the areas of t he Territorial Commands with both the PSP and the adjacent Commands and vice versa.

After this, the suitability of the means of the GNR in fighting Serious and Violent Crimes through three perspectives is depicted: Crime Prevention, Criminal Investigation and the Reaction to Events. The methods used are the inquisitive, deductive and systematic having as practice component the application of the interview survey to 19 participants, and corresponding analysis and interpretation. This study presents exploratory features, since it ends with the verification of the explanatory hypotheses. With this research we can conclude that cooperation is a vital strategy, in particular through the sharing of information. The GNR is not endowed with the adequate resources for this kind of crime fight, however, its responsiveness capability is efficient, so far, and able to answer to all occurrences. A investigação inicia-se com a definição do conceito de Criminalidade Violenta e Grave, prossegue com a caracterização das competências da GNR e de seguida, aborda os instrumentos e mecanismos de cooperação existentes entre as Forças e Serviços de Segurança. Posteriormente retrata-se a adequabilidade dos meios da GNR no combate à Criminalidade Violenta e Grave através de três perspectivas: a Prevenção Criminal, a Investigação Criminal e a Reacção às Ocorrências. Os métodos utilizados são o inquisitivo, dedutivo e sistemático tendo como componente prática a aplicação de inquéritos por entrevistas, a 19 participantes, e correspondente análise e interpretação. Este estudo apresenta características exploratórias, uma vez que termina com a verificação das hipóteses explicativas. Com esta investigação conclui-se que a cooperação é uma estratégia imprescindível, nomeadamente através da partilha de informação. A GNR não está dotada com os meios adequados para este combate, no entanto, a sua capacidade de resposta é eficiente, pelo que se verifica, até ao momento, a resposta a todas as ocorrências. Este trabalho revela-se uma mais-valia, uma vez que é um contributo para se avaliar as possíveis formas de emprego e rentabilização dos meios no terreno.         < field name =" value " > O presente trabalho abrange o tema “A Adequabilidade dos Meios da GNR para o Combate à Criminalidade Violenta e Grave” tendo como objectivo concluir se a capacidade de resposta da GNR para o combate a este tipo de criminalidade é adequada. A investigação inicia-se com a definição do conceito de Criminalidade Violenta e Grave, prossegue com a caracterização das competências da GNR e de seguida, aborda os instrumentos e mecanismos de cooperação existentes entre as Forças e Serviços de Segurança. Posteriormente retrata-se a adequabilidade dos meios da GNR no combate à Criminalidade Violenta e Grave através de três perspectivas: a Prevenção Criminal, a Investigação Criminal e a Reacção às Ocorrências. Os métodos utilizados são o inquisitivo, dedutivo e sistemático tendo como componente prática a aplicação de inquéritos por entrevistas, a 19 participantes, e correspondente análise e interpretação. Este estudo apresenta características exploratórias, uma vez que termina com a verificação das hipóteses explicativas. Com esta investigação conclui-se que a cooperação é uma estratégia imprescindível, nomeadamente através da partilha de informação. A GNR não está dotada com os meios adequados para este combate, no entanto, a sua capacidade de resposta é eficiente, pelo que se verifica, até ao momento, a resposta a todas as ocorrências. Este trabalho revela-se uma mais-valia, uma vez que é um contributo para se avaliar as possíveis formas de emprego e rentabilização dos meios no terreno. Uma das sugestões apresentadas, visa a partilha de informação diária da incidência de ilícitos nas zonas de acção dos Comandos Territoriais quer com a Polícia de Segurança Pública, quer com os Comandos adjacentes e vice-versa. </ field >
        
        < field name =" value " > Abstract This paper covers the issue of “The Adequacy of GNR Means to Combat Serious and Violent Crime” aiming to conclude whether the responsiveness of the GNR to combat this type of crime is appropriate or not. The research starts with the definition of the concept of Serious and Violent Crimes, it then proceeds with the characterization of the competences of the GNR and then discusses the existing mechanisms and tools for cooperation between the forces and security services. After this, the suitability of the means of the GNR in fighting Serious and Violent Crimes through three perspectives is depicted: Crime Prevention, Criminal Investigation and the Reaction to Events. The methods used are the inquisitive, deductive and systematic having as practice component the application of the interview survey to 19 participants, and corresponding analysis and interpretation. This study presents exploratory features, since it ends with the verification of the explanatory hypotheses. With this research we can conclude that cooperation is a vital strategy, in particular through the sharing of information. The GNR is not endowed with the adequate resources for this kind of crime fight, however, its responsiveness capability is efficient, so far, and able to answer to all occurrences. This work is therefore a valuable asset, sinc e it contributes to assess the possible forms of employment and performance improvement of the means on the ground. One of the suggestions made aims to the sharing of information regarding daily incidences, like crimes and illegal actions in the areas of t he Territorial Commands with both the PSP and the adjacent Commands and vice versa. </ field >
