Descripción:: A Educação a Distância tem sido alvo de muita atenção no contexto social, político, econômico e educacional atual. O presente trabalho teve como proposta investigar como a relação de interação é construída e alimentada ao longo de um processo educativo a distância. Em um primeiro momento, centrou-se sobre a questão da distância, desenvolvendo e analisando vários tipos de distância e suas implicações no processo pedagógico. Em um segundo momento, debruçou-se sobre os elementos principais constitutivos da Educação a Distância, passando ao questionamento de sua importância para a construção de relações interativas, através de estratégias de aproximação da distância.; Distance Learning has been the target of much attention at the present social, political, economic and educational context. The aim of this study was to investigate how interaction is built and sustained throughout a distance educational process. Firstly, it focused on the aspect of distance. It developed and analysed different types of distances, as well as their implications for the pedagogical process. Secondly, it discussed the main elements of Distance Education besides its importance for building interactive relations by means of distance approaching strategies.
