Descripción:: This article is based on the conference given at the International Forum: “Sea Power in the quest to the independence of America” held on November 12, 2021. It seeks to highlight the importance of the naval force during the South American independence process, experiencing land setbacks that redirected the original strategy towards the maritime environment.For that purpose, those responsible of organizing the separatist forces had to adapt and resort to the elements of Sea Power, managing to form a squadron that was able to project power to land. This was not an easy task nor was it free of difficulties in terms of logistics and manpower. However, despite that adverse reality, the will, creativity and leadership of Creole patriots resulted in the landing in Peruvian territory and proclaiming the independence of Peru.; El presente artículo toma como base la exposición dada en el Foro Internacional: Poder Naval en la gesta de la independencia de América, llevado a cabo el 12 de noviembre del 2021. Tiene como objetivo resaltar la importancia del aspecto naval durante el proceso independentista sudamericano, el cual experimentó reveses terrestres que redireccionaron la estrategia original hacia el medio marítimo.Para ello, los organizadores de las fuerzas separatistas tuvieron que adaptarse y recurrir a elementos del Poder Naval, logrando formar una escuadra que logró proyectar el poder a tierra. Esta tarea no fue sencilla ni estuvo libre de dificultades del orden logístico y humano. Sin embargo, a pesar de aquella realidad adversa, la voluntad, creatividad y liderazgo de los patriotas criollos tuvo como resultado el desembarcar en territorio peruano y proclamar la independencia del Perú.
